From Overcoming Bulimia to Inspiring Others – The Transformative Yoga Journey of Kia Miller

The Beginning of a Life – Changing Journey

Kia Miller was born in the Falkland Islands and made a significant move to England at the age of 15. It was here that she first came into contact with yoga. Before her deep – dive into yoga, she had a successful career as a model and filmmaker. However, the pressures of her busy work and life soon became overwhelming. She found herself struggling with “Bulimia” for a long eight – year period, both physically and emotionally drained.

Amidst this difficult time, she remembered yoga and decided to give it another try. Through the practice of Hatha yoga, she discovered that each deep breath brought her an incredible amount of power and joy, infusing her with new – found strength. This marked the official start of her yoga journey.

Expanding Her Yoga Horizons

During her yoga exploration, Kia received her Ashtanga teaching certification and also had the opportunity to study Kundalini yoga under a master of Kundalini. She described yoga as her sanctuary. In her words, “During that time, I felt that yoga was like a protective shell for me. Through every meditation and breathing practice, it allowed me to face my true inner self, enabling me to take off my mask and find myself.”

Now, Kia finds great pleasure in sharing her yoga practice and inspiring others to live a life full of creativity and joy. Looking at her today, it’s hard to believe that the once disease – ridden Kia Miller has undergone such a remarkable transformation, all thanks to yoga.

The True Essence of Yoga

After teaching yoga for a long time, Kia Miller has come to a profound conclusion. Yoga is not just about the external physical appearance. It exercises the heart and sharpens the inner being. Yoga is more than just asanas; it is a baptism of the heart. For her, it is the warmest light inside.

When she truly delved into yoga, aiming to find the connection between the mind and body, she specialized in Kundalini yoga, focusing on the power that breathing and meditation bring to people. She even founded Radiant Body Yoga, and her work has been featured in major yoga magazines.

Dispelling Misconceptions and Offering Advice

Despite her success, there are still many people who mistakenly believe that yoga is only a physical practice. In fact, in addition to asanas, yoga can also be used to heal physical illnesses and mental problems through breathing and meditation. Kia has a lot of advice for those who want to start practicing yoga. She says that the reason we choose yoga is to find the unity of body and mind through it, and asanas are just one of the ways. Breathing and meditation are equally, if not more, important. One should not become a slave to asanas when practicing yoga.

Finally, Kia emphasizes that practicing yoga is a long – term process. Changes won’t happen overnight. Only through the test of time can one see the changes in oneself. The highest level of yoga is to see oneself through time. Although the years will pass, grace and elegance will be engraved in one’s bones. No matter how bright a star is, it may eventually dim, but the light of yoga can be passed on forever as long as one has light in their heart.
